Silicon Nitride Si3N4 Grade 5 Metric Balls, Faster, Harder, Rounder! 1mm -10mm
Silicone Nitride Si3N4 Ball
Silicone Nitride Si3N4 Ball
Compared with Steel balls Si3N4 balls have the following advantages
- 59% Lighter Than Steel, which means less centrifugal force and less wear on the raceways during high speed acceleration
- 44% Larger elastic modulus, meaning less deformation under load
- Quite simply the hardest ball Rockwell 78
- Smaller friction coefficient
- 1/4" coefficient of the thermal expansion of steel, can also accommodate sudden changes in temperature
- Superior surface finish Ra 4~6 nm
- Can withstand temperatures up to 1050 Degrees C
- Never rust and require no lubrication
- Free of metal contamination
- Non-Magnetic
- Electric Isolation
- No adhesive-wear
Application Examples
Si3N4 ball can be used in all bearings with special requirement: high speed bearing, high precision bearing; vacuum bearing; high/low temperature bearing, non-magnetic bearing, high precision ball screw; Si3N4 ball can also be used as valve ball and metering ball in chemical pump, high-temperature pump, metering pump.
Si3N4 ball is generally assembled in bearing for application in high-tech industry such as aerospace, national defense, chemical industry, metallurgical, medical, food, oil plant, electronic etc.
Can also be used for replacing standard steel bearings for applications such as bicycle wheel hub
